It contains:īecause the events of 'Mario Bros. This universe has the least amount of games connected to it. The events of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island occur here as well. Speaking of which, Isle Delfino is where Mario and the gang vacation following the events of Super Mario World. In this universe, the Yoshi race originates from Yoshi's Island, although some Yoshies live in Dinosaur Land and formerly Isle Delfino (shout outs to u/StarWarriorSora for that tasty bit of info). The planet Mario inhabits in Universe #1 contains a large landmass surrounded by smaller islands/locations: Dinosaur Land, Yoshi's Island, Mario Land, and Isle Delfino. 'Galaxy 2 completely throws the similarities away with a revamped castle/Toad Town, so I put it in another universe. Of course, we never see Toad Town in '64, but perhaps the Toads tore down the hill and built said town following the events of '64. The lake, waterfall, and bridge are all present. '64 and 'Galaxy are where we've seen the most consistency with Peach's castle. This is intentional, and I will explain Super Mario Land later. You may have noticed that this universe does not possess the original Super Mario Land or Super Mario Galaxy 2. This universe has the most games connected to it and requires the most explaining. I will now thoroughly describe each universe and the games they contain. The games can very well be re-arranged, but I'm satisfied with the way it turned out. I propose four separate universes/alternate timelines, each containing mainline games connected to them in a sensical way (mainline games do not include Mario kart, Mario party, Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, etc.). In my opinion, one of the only sensical ways to explain this mess is to state that a Mario multiverse exists. How much bigger is the planet Mario lives on going to become? From a logical standpoint, this universe is a baffling mess, and I've created a theory to help make sense of it all.
Also, every mainline Mario game introduces new in-game locations. For example, Peach's castle is always changing designs and locations. The Super Mario universe is very inconsistent and complicated.
